2. You Will Mostly be on the Road during Free Times
Dating a climber means becoming adventurous. But, you will have to hit the road to climbing with your partner during holidays and weekends. Climbers mostly have an uncompleted task to accomplish, but you will have to help them in doing that. So, you will be traveling to remote and mountainous areas with your partner if you are dating a climber.
3. Dating a Climber Implies Trust
Climbers are trustworthy, and they know the importance of that as they rely on each other during climbing. They work in teams with other climbers and trust them of watching their back to prevent accidents. As your partner knows the importance of being there for others, he/she will be there for you when needed. But trust and being there for each other is an important component of a relationship, right?
4. They can be Careless
Your climber partner can be a little careless as climbers, and that can be scary. Their carelessness can also extend to the house, so be ready for it.
5. Rough palms
If you want a partner with a smooth and soft palm then, date a doctor not a climber. So, climbers have callous and rough palms, which may not be suitable for handshakes. This can be somehow embarrassing when your partner has to exchange handshakes with your family and friends.
6. Sleeping Under Tents
You have to be prepared to sleep under tents or in your van during your weekend climbing adventures. If you are new to climbing, never for a moment, think that you will have a comfortable sleep in a first-class hotel that serves breakfast in bed. So, this is part of what makes climbing adventurous.
Also, be ready to hear interesting stories about their climbing trips. Thus, this makes conversation with them very interesting. They know what to say at any point in time, so there is no dull moment at all.
8. What to Get them at Anniversaries
Don’t think your head off when trying to get your partner something special during an anniversary. Look at his/her interest “climbing” and get them that special gift. You can buy them a new climbing gear and your partner will love you for that.
9. You Cant Make them Stop Climbing
Your advice is welcome, but keep it to yourself. Don’t try to complain or nag about their climbing interest because it will yield no results. But, there is no doubt that climbing can be hazardous and you can lose your partner to it. So as a caring partner, you would want to show some concern. But am afraid it won’t work!
10. Dating a Climber Equals No Privacy
You may see it as environmental pollution and lack of privacy, but you have no option. During climbing trips, you will have to respond to nature’s calls in the free space. But, there may be no public restroom facility around the climbing destination, and it may be very far away from town. These are mostly in remote areas, where network connectivity is a problem. So you will have to do those private things in public.
